There have been some people ridiculing and setting up petitions, because some people have said Senator Obama’s fist bump might be showing terrorist sympathies. After all, how many terrorist sympathisers are there in the US? Well, if Dunkin Donuts makes an ad directed at them, there must be a lot. Obviously any politician has to try to get their votes and Senator’s Obama and McCain would be silly not to. Let me look at both of them to see which groups they’re going after.
First Obama: watch the video (go to the petitions link above to see the Fox news cut). Here’s what I see:
- He hugs Michelle for a fairly long time–to me this shows he has communist sympathies.
- Just before the fist bump, Michelle makes it look like she might try a high five, but then pulls back. i think this is a nod to the Maoists.
- Finally the fist bump shows the terroritst sympathies.
Putting it together, my guess is that Obama is going for the Shining Path types (or perhaps the CPN in Nepal).
For McCain, look at the video he has put up on his site after he clinched the nomination. Since I’m a liberal, I’m not as good with the right wing signs but here’s my guess:
- he doesn’t show himself interacting with Cindy and has her stand behind him. I think this is a nod to religious extremists.
- John is wearing a dark suit, Cindy yellow and the podium is somewhat orange. Hmm, these are the colors of Uganda’s flag.
My guess therefore is the Lord’s Resistance Army.
Anyone have a better reading of the speeches?
